How to Support Your Skin After the Holidays

The holidays are great… but they’re not exactly gentle on your skin. Between travel, late nights, extra makeup, and dry winter air, most people walk into January feeling like their skin is a little “off.”

So if your face is feeling tight, dull, or just tired. You’re not alone. And you don’t need a complicated routine to fix it. Here’s what we recommend when someone sits down in our treatment room this time of year.

Start with hydration — it makes the biggest difference

Most post-holiday skin isn’t dry. It’s dehydrated. Those two weeks of cold weather + heat blasting inside will do that.

A few easy things help right away:

  • A hydrating serum morning and night

  • A richer moisturizer in the evening

  • Drinking more water than you think you need

  • Shorter, less-hot showers (sorry but it works)

Skin plumps back up faster than you expect.

Keep your routine simple for a week

If your skin feels irritated, your instinct might be to throw every product at it.Try the opposite: strip things back.

A good reset routine looks like this:

  • Gentle cleanser

  • Hydrating serum

  • Moisturizer

  • SPF

That’s it. Give your skin a chance to breathe before adding anything new.

Go easy on exfoliation

We see this every January: flaky skin → people exfoliating more → skin freaking out.

Try exfoliating once or twice a week, max.Gentle formulas are all you need to get things back on track.

A facial can speed things up

A lot of people book the first week of January because they want a clean slate — literally.A hydrating, barrier-supportive facial can calm irritation, soften texture, and help your products work better.

It’s a good reset if your routine feels “meh.”

How you know your skin’s coming back

You’ll start noticing:

  • Less tightness

  • Fewer dry patches

  • Makeup sitting better

  • A softer, smoother feel

  • Less redness

Small changes add up fast.
